    7 days after the kidnapping of the Israeli soldiers took place, I was still not quite aware of the storm that was already bringing the fargile structure of the Lebanese state to the ground. I suddenly realised that “we”, the Lebanese people who were fighting for their independence against neighbouring powers were in the middle of an (independent state) dream that took us away from the reality that was chaining Lebanon.

    For the first time in my life I felt that my country was an orphan, that every body was fighting over its custody but no one is willing to confess its fatherhood. An orphan that was left in an elephants passage, clueless, helpless, but never hopeless…

    The fight is still going on… and I have the feeling that it will not end sometime soon… The scenario is getting more like an Alien vs Predator scenario… Whoever wins… We lose…
